Key arguments for denying Coke our business
How to start a campaign at your university
NUSSL
NUSSL (National Union of Students Services Limited) is a purchasing consortium for any students' union who is a member of NUS. A union has to be a member of NUS to be a member of NUSSL, but being a member of NUSSL is voluntary. As a consortium, they buy in bulk for students' unions, so in theory, the students' unions get better deals. This is debatable. They also offer different services to students' unions.
Why is NUSSL an issue?
The problem UK Students have came across is NUSSL's exclusivity deals. That is, if a students' union wishes to be a member of NUSSL, there is a list of products they must purchase, Coca Cola being one of them. While in NUSSL it is impossible to stop selling Coke.
How can we stop NUSSL selling Coke?
NUSSL must follow NUS conference policy. That is, if Conference (800 student delegates from around the UK) votes to end contracts with Coca-Cola then NUSSL must not sign any new contracts with Coca-Cola.
